As many cakes as I've made for my friend's birthdays, I've NEVER made one for any of my immediate family members. Best friend? Check. Boyfriend? Check. Boyfriend's dad? check. Immediate family? whoops.
So, as a way to pay respect to my dad's mom and simultaneously start the trend of making cakes for my family, I've been put in charge of making a deliciously special birthday cake for my Mimi.
The kick is that this is a surprise birthday, which means I can't talk to her about what she wants. So my faithful bloggers, I'm asking you to help me.
